Baker Tilly Isle of Man elects new directors to board

Baker Tilly Isle of Man is pleased to announce that Chris Quinn and Valerie Yiu have been elected to its board of directors.

Commenting on the new appointments, Principal and Director at Baker Tilly Isle of Man Rob Kirkham said: “We’re excited to expand our board with two new members who will bring diverse expertise and insight to our work. We have worked diligently to ensure Baker Tilly Isle of Man’s board and leadership represents the perspectives, backgrounds, and skill sets the business needs at the board level, and our newest board members are no exception.

Chris has been with Baker Tilly Isle of Man for over 16 years, qualifying first as an Accounting Technician in 2007 before going on to complete his Chartered Accountancy exams in 2010. Chris has worked in all aspects of general practice throughout his career at Baker Tilly with audit being his main focus area. He has several years’ experience leading large group audits, and is individually responsible for an increasing number of practice clients across all facets of our business – Audit, Assurance, Accountancy, Tax compliance and VAT.

I am honoured and delighted to be appointed to the Board of Directors of Baker Tilly Isle of Man, a company I have been with for over 16 years,” said Chris. “This has been a long-term aspiration of mine, and so for this now to be realised is a proud moment for me and my family, and I am excited about the role I can play in the development and future direction of Baker Tilly.

Valerie joined the company in 2004, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2008. After spending a number of years working in general practice Valerie has been looking after property ownership structures with a strong focus on commercial property. This includes assisting clients in the acquisition and disposal of properties and companies, the development/redevelopment of investment properties and arranging external financing. She also acts as a client company director and is responsible for managing real estate portfolios in different asset classes (office space, hotel, industrial and mixed use).

I feel very fortunate to have been appointed to this role,” said Valerie. “I want to thank all my colleagues and the board of Baker Tilly Isle of Man for this opportunity. I am looking forward to undertaking my new responsibilities and to further helping Baker Tilly and its clients succeed as much as possible.
